Nigeria's Super Eagles Coach Stephen Keshi has accepted to continue in the role, after he sent a formal notice to that effect to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday.
A three-man NFF
committee mandated to open contract talks with him, had formally sent the coach
a letter of intent.
It was this letter
that the Edo-born coach replied to.
The man who led the
Super Eagles to victory at the 2013 AFCON had repeatedly said he would wish to
continue as coach of the team.
Keshi’s initial
contract ended with the World Cup in Brazil.
Host
Nigeria host Rwanda
on September 7 in their first qualifying match for the Africa Cup of Nations in
Morocco.
South Africa and
Sudan are the other teams in this group.
