UN IMPRESSED WITH NIGERIA'S HANDLING OF EBOLA

                        
The United Nations has commended Nigeria for tackling the Ebola virus outbreak. David Navarro, Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General on Ebola Virus Disease gave the commendation during his meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at State House in Abuja.

He said the Secretary-General asked me to come here too, not because you have an Ebola problem, but because you have tackled it in an exemplary fashion,”
Navarro said there may still be some work to be done before the virus is completely cleared out from the country.  
“Your personal leadership on the matter has been key. There may still be some work to be done before the virus is completely cleared out from here, but other countries can learn from your fine example.”
Among other government officials present. At the event in Abuja include Health Minister Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu and Minister of State for Health Dr Khaliru Alhassan.

The Ebola virus has claimed the lives of more than 1 000 in West Africa since its worst outbreak in years, including five in Nigeria.
