The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom' is a timeless
truth from the Holy Bible. This statement was first recoined in the late 90s
and early 2000 to: 'The fear of HIV is the beginning of wisdom', The almighty
HIV is no more news and a thing to fear any longer (thank God for awareness)
About fortnight ago, a viral text sms and night calls on
emergency bath with salt in warm water and a sip of the same was speculated to
serve as a preventive mechanism against Ebola. Shortly thereafter, another
recoined from the Holy Book emerged as: 'The fear of Ebola is the beginning of
wisdom'. It seems to me people fear more of what they see than what its been
said.
If one fears HIV or Ebola without the fear of God is like
holding the branches of a tree instead of the stem for strength. With or
without epidemics some day we will all die and its your relationship with God
that will save you and so if you are to choose between the two who to fear, be
advise to fear God first which is topmost and the true beginning of wisdom and
then fear of Ebola will be the beginning of good health.
