Former Deputy Governor of Kebbi State Abdullahi Abubakar Barde is dead, family sources have confirmed. Late Barde, an elder brother to Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida died on Saturday (sallah day) at the Usman Danfodio Teaching Hospital (UDUTH) , Sokoto at about 3pm after a protracted illness. He was the first deputy governor to then Governor Adamu Aliero during his first tenure and was impeached in 2002.
His remains have been buried in Argungu, Kebbi State his home town according to
Islamic rites. Among those who attended his burial were his brother Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Mera and the former deputy governor Suleiman Argungu.
