Workers in Ekiti State have suspended the two- week- old
strike they declared over the the non- payment of their two-month salaries and
allowances.
According to Punch, The workers suspended the strike a day after Governor
Ayodele Fayose was sworn in at the Olu Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti, which was
witnessed by the Chairman of People's Democratic Party, Adamu Muazu, governors
of Akwa Ibom, Katsina, Cross River, Bauchi, Jigawa, Kaduna, Abia, Kebbi, Delta
and Ondo States. The State Joint Negotiating Council Chairman, Oladipupo Johnson, who made the announcement in Ado Ekiti, said the workers agreed to suspend the strike in order to honour Governor Fayose after a meeting with the Head of Service, Bunnies Famosaya.
