LATE PATRICK SAWYER’S WIFE SPEAKS OUT NIGERIANS ARE STILL ANGRY AT MY HUSBAND

Wife of Patrick Sawyer, Decontee  (pictured) has said that Nigerians are still angry at her husband despite the fact that he is dead

The name Patrick Sawyer became infamous after the late Liberian-American entered into Nigeria despite being infected with the Ebola Virus Disease.
Nigerians have blamed him for starting the outbreak which claimed 8 lives in the nation and his wife Decontee has said that there is still a lot of anger towards her husband despite the fact that he is dead.
The widow and mother-of-two stated this due to the alleged refusal of the Nigerian government to officially confirm Patrick Sawyer’s demise by issuing a death certificate.
Mrs. Sawyer, who says she’s struggling financially, needs Patrick’s death certificate to enable her access some benefits for her 3 daughters but despite requests made to the hospital in Lagos and the Liberian finance minister, she has not received her husband's cremated remains, his health records or his death certificate, MPR News reports.
She said:
"They are angry at Patrick. And so that anger is still there, even though he's dead now,"
"My heart goes out to...all the families that have lost a loved one to Ebola,"  "I'm one of those people."
US officials have however reportedly said that they are working on retrieving Mr Sawyer’s remains and death certificate from Nigeria as soon as possible.
Marc Kimball, a spokesman for Senator Al Franken of Minnesota, where Mrs. Sawyer resides, said:
"Sen. Franken has had his staff working with the State Department to get Mr. Sawyer's remains and his death certificate out of Nigeria as quickly as possible."
Patrick Sawyer arrived in Lagos and collapsed at the airport after which he died of Ebola on July 25 at the First Consultant Medical Center in Obalende.
