EDO ASSEMBLY CRISIS:

The Commissioner who was reacting to accusations by the Governor of the State Mr Adams Oshiomhole on his alleged complicity in the attack on the legislators’ quarters at Ihama Road Benin city denied the allegations leveled against the command.
You   will recall that the Edo state police commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo during the weekend read riot act to Political thugs to either relocate from the state or face the full wrath of the law.
He said arrest has been made and threatened that the police will deal ruthlessly with any culprit in the attack.

Political tension heightened in the state on Friday night when the Assembly legislator's quarters was attacked   leaving parts of buildings and cars belonging to lawmakers badly damaged.

Hundreds of suspected hoodlums invaded the premises about 6:15 am and chased out occupants of the buildings including lawmakers.

At the time our news crew visited the scene, signs of the destruction were visible.

Reports say policemen and in-house security guards who were on duty allegedly ran for safety during the attack owing to overwhelming numbers of the hoodlums.

The Governor of the state, Adams Oshiomhole who visited the scene of the incident was alarmed by the massive destruction.

He condemned the attack in its entirety.

He fingered some stalwarts of the main opposition party, PDP,  in the state of plotting the attack.

Adams Oshiomhole also indicted the commissioner of police Mr. Foluso Adebanjo on his alleged complicity in the attack.

He said his in-action despite intelligence report earlier communicated to him was turned down.

As at the time of filing in this report it was not however be ascertained whether the attack was in connection with an earlier attack of the member representing Etsako West Constituency one, Abdulrazak Momoh.
