LAGOS ASSURED OF SECURITY DURING FESTIVITIES

The Lagos State Police Command has assured residents of adequate security during the coming Eid-el-Kabir festivals and the remaining “Ember” months.
Meanwhile Officials said security measures had been put in place to ensure that crime is reduced to the barest minimum during the period.

The State Police Commissioner, Kayode Aderanti, said the police and other security agencies are ready to ensure is security in the state.
The commissioner also stated that his command and other security agencies would be proactive in putting in place all the security measures in place to ensure that every resident enjoys the Eid-El-Kabir festival  and the Ember (October, November and December) months .
“So far the state is relatively peaceful and we hope and believe that we can sustain it in these coming days.”

He, however, urged residents to be security conscious wherever they were emphasizing that security is a collective responsibility with every resident as a stakeholder in the security architecture of the state.

The police head said. “We have also put measures in place to ensure that all the good people of Lagos State   enjoy the coming holidays. They are free to go to the malls, to go to the beaches and to the cinema houses because adequate security will be provided in all these places,” He said that it is the only way to reduce crime rate to the barest minimum,”

He commended the efforts of Governor Babatunde Fashola in putting in place solid security architecture.
“We have all the logistics to work with, we have all the enablement and we have all the support. All we need to do is to work hard to ensure that this state is peaceful and open to investments and continues to serve as a meeting point where every Nigerian will have a sense of belonging,” he concluded.
