Pandemonium broke out Tuesday morning as drivers
plying the Uwasota Uwelu road blocked the road burning tyres and chanting
solidarity songs in protest over worsening condition of the road.
The protest which lasted several hours disrupted both
human and vehicular moment along the route while commuters trek long distances
to their various places of work or businesses.
Some of the
angry drivers who spoke to STV news crew including the chairman of Drivers
Association, Mr Mike Oni, said because
of the deplorable state of the road they have to carry out repairs on their
vehicles and vulcanize their tyres almost on daily basis.
Meanwhile landlords , students and other
residents were not left out as they came out in solidarity
with the drivers .
One of them Mr. Efosa Idehen said the drivers have
suffered too much.
A retired
teacher Mrs. Osariagiagbon said the local government came to put stone on the
road and abandoned them creating worse problem.
The chairman,
egor local government area Mr. Victor Enobakare who witness the protest
promise that palliative measure will done next week for the road.

different media house nothing was done till now.
