The Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chukwuma Nwazunku has been impeached.
You will recall that 16 out of the 24 members of the House carried out the impeachment of the Speaker.
Meanwhile Nwazunku was accused of gross misconduct, incompetence and embezzlement of funds meant for members of the assembly. Four lawmakers were also suspended for alleged gross misconduct.
This is the second time Nwazunku would be impeached within two months. The swift intervention of the Gov Martin Elechi saved him from the first impeachment.
