OSHIOMHOLE LOSES MORE AIDES TO PDP

Edo State Governor, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole on Thursday in Benin lost two of his serving aides, Prince Osama Erediawa and Mr Gaskin Eke to the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The defectors were the Executive Director, office of the Governor, and Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Inter Party Relations. Prince Osama Erediawa said he decided to join the PDP to embrace change and work with the party for a successful take over in 2015 and 2016.

He explained that he was not forced or induced in any way or by any person individually or collectively to join the party but resigned from the APC and the Oshiomhole Government of his own free will. Gaskin on his part said he left the Oshiomhole government, because according to him the actions of the government negate the principles of honesty, probity, and accountability. The  State Chairman of PDP, Chief Dan Orbih and other party leaders in the state received the new members to the party. The party membership card was instantly given to the new defectors.

However, Dan Orbih called on all lovers of democracy to join hands with the party in defending democracy in the state, adding that the party would continue to take steps toward defending democracy in the state.

Reacting to the sitting of the factional members of the Edo House of Assembly at the government House on Wednesday he noted that no sacrifice was too great to pay for democracy.

Stressing that the beauty of the presidential system of government was the separation of powers among the three tiers of government, the PDP chairman said that the Wednesday action by the All Progressive Congress lawmakers was abnormal.

He said that it was a calculated attempt by the present administration in the state to erode the principle of separation of power, adding that legislators have no business holding plenary in government house.

He therefore urged the PDP lawmakers to ignore the moving of sitting by the APC lawmakers to government house and continue to discharge their duties at the assembly complex.

Orbih assured them that the party would continue to defend them as the PDP has a responsibility to them and the people of the state.
