FAMILY DEBUNKS REPORTS OF CHARM IN BLACK ARROW’S DEATH

The family of Osamame Isekhuere, A.K.A. Black Arrow, who was shot dead in Benin, Edo State, last month has denied media reports that he was shot while testing the efficacy of charms in his possession.

Spokesman of the family, Chief John Adun, who made the clarification in Benin, said: “He was shot from behind by a boy who is now in police net.”
Adun explained that the problem between the late Osamame and the person that allegedly shot him was over who becomes the head of Ogbe Youth Association.
He said: “The boy (deceased) was fronting for his own brother to be the next head of the association and this did not go down well with some of them.
“Three attempts were made on the life of the deceased in my own house on Zabayo Street. I reported at the State CID that the boys were collecting N1,000 each from market women.
“The woman who sold a bottle of soft drink to the deceased when a shot hit him has even agreed to testify if invited. So this report that he was testing his charm is untrue and that is why some of us were shocked when we read it because we knew what happened.
“The boy who shot him is in police cell and has confessed to the crime.”
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Folunso Adebanjo, confirmed the arrest of the suspect, adding “he will be taken to court after investigation.”
