GERMANY DAMAGES WORLD CUP TROPHY.

The body in charge of German football say the World Cup trophy has been damaged. According to German website Die Welt, President of German FA Wolfgang Niersbach confirmed the damage of the replica trophy given to the team by FIFA for their parade. ‘At one point, a small piece of our World Cup trophy was chipped off. But do not worry; we have specialists on the case who can fix it.’ He said an investigation into the damaged trophy was inconclusive. ‘We have investigated persistently who it was that damaged the trophy, but the investigation was concluded without a result.’ The trophy was reportedly damaged during the celebration parade in Berlin. Germany defeated Argentina 1 – 0 in the final clash to win the 2014 World Cup for the first time since 1990 in Brazil’s Maracana stadium..
