The Ugandan
television station NTV has been banned from covering presidential events after
the station’s broadcast displayed the president of Uganda sleeping on duty.
In a
statement at the recent parliament meeting held at the government house, the
Nation TV station televised President Yoweri Museveni, 69, sleeping during a
meeting. Speaking with AFP, the government’s media center manager Dennis
Katungi said: ‘president has habits, he meditates and they know it, and still
they go out and say he was sleeping. The suspension should not be permanent.
It’s temporary, to make them think.
