Flood Renders 50 Families Homeless ORIHIONMWON LGA Edo state
A legislator has said, Flood waters that overflowed a drainage system have displaced more than 50 families in Orihionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State,
Mr. Friday Ogierhiakhi (PDP-Oriohiomwon) made this known on Tuesday in Benin, during plenary held by PDP legislators at the state House of Assembly.
He said that the flood sacked the community due to poor construction of the drainage system.
Due to the shallow and narrow nature of the drainage system, the flood water flowed into peoples’ homes and displaced more than 50 families.” The assembly urged the state Commissioner for Works to intervene and ensure the repair of drainage.
The assembly also urged the relevant agencies to provide relief materials to the affected families. It constituted a three-man ad hoc committee led by Abdulrazak Momoh (PDP- Etsako West 1) to visit the community to ascertain the level of destruction.
Meanwhile, Mr. Abdulrazak Momoh (PDP Etsako-West 1) has said that his purported signature on the impeachment notice against the Deputy speaker, Mr. Festus Ebea, (APC Esan South-East) was forged.

He described the forgery as an “embarrassment” to him. He disclosed that he did not sign any impeachment notice neither did he attend any meeting with APC lawmakers where the impeachment notice was signed. He solicited the assistance of the assembly to ensure that APC lawmakers who claimed that he signed the impeachment notice were brought to book.
