Nigeria's Problems Are Self-inflicted - Ayo Oritsejafor

At the independence anniversary interdenominational church service in Abuja, the CAN president condemned in strong terms the spate of corruption in the country and traced it to insatiable quest for wealth.

In his sermon, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Pastor Ayo Oritsejefor prayed for God to use the occasion of the independence day celebration to bring back peace and unity to the country.

Nigeria lost N77.87 billion worth of crude oil and other petroleum products in 2013, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has revealed. The NNPC, in its Annual Statistics Bulletin 2013, released recently, said 327,480 metric tonnes, MT, of petroleum products were lost, while a total of 2.312 million barrels of crude oil were stolen from pipelines in the period under review.
