DORA AKUNYILI’S DAUGHTER NJIDEKA CROSBY WINS SMITHSONIAN AMERICAN ART MUSEUM’S 2014 JAMES DICKE PRIZE

Former Minister of Information and Communications, late Dora Akunyili’s daughter, Njideka Akunyili-Crosby, has won the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s 2014 James Dicke Prize. Crosby, 32, is a mixed-media artist.

Art News reports.The prestigious award “recognizes an artist younger than 50 who has produced a significant body of work and consistently demonstrates exceptional creativity,”
According to reports, the award comes with a $25,000. Congrats to Njideka! It’s so awesome to see Africans around the world living their dreams and excelling in fields they are passionate about
